Data Deletion
Last updated: 29 June 2026
Delete your data in the app
cDot does not create a separate backend account for you. You connect an existing Google or Microsoft email account with OAuth, and your app data is primarily stored locally on your device. It does store your public encryption and verification key on the C-Layer blockchain.
To delete your local app and blockchain data, open cDot and go to Settings > Delete account. This removes local account data from your device and starts deletion of cDot-managed records associated with the account.
Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion of any cDot-managed data associated with your email address by contacting us at delete-account@certonymity.com.
Please include:
- The email address you connected to cDot.
- A short note saying that you want your cDot data deleted.
We may ask you to verify control of the email address before processing the request.
Data controlled by email providers
cDot cannot delete your Google, Gmail, Microsoft, or Outlook account. To delete data held by those providers, please use the deletion tools provided by the relevant provider.
